Professional dancers Renata (33) and Valentin Lusin (34) look after two of the most promising celebrities in the current “Let’s Dance”season: the former Icelandic football pro Rúrik Gíslason and the “GZSZ”actress Valentina Pahde. They train their protégés separately and drive them to peak performance – last week, both teams reached the full 30 points of the jury.

So they are currently competitors on the floor, but privately the Lusins are a welded team and a happy couple. And this since her youth. The Russian dancer Renata came, according to a report by rtl.de already at the age of 16 years for her dance sports career to Germany. Her new dance partner became Valentin – and she actually fell in love with him the first time she met him.

“Let’s Dance”professionals Renata and Valentin Lusin: “Love at first sight”

“Absolutely yes, that was love at first sight,” she recalled in 2020 on RTL. Valentin picked her up from the airport and wore sunglasses. “And then he took off his sunglasses and there were these blue eyes and I was totally in love directly.”

Valentin was obviously no different. The very first evening he asked her if she would kiss him – and she liked to say ‘yes’.

Dancing did not work out so well. He had a completely different technique than you. But because they fell in love, they also stayed together as dance partners – and with great success not only at “Let’s Dance”, where they have been a professional dancer since 2018, but also at tournaments and championships.

“Let’s Dance”star Renata Lusin: “I had tears in my eyes”

As a professional trainer at “Let’s Dance” they treat each other to their successes. After Valentina Pahde with her Viennese waltz had triggered storms of enthusiasm in the jury, Renata revealed rtl.de: “I had tears in my eyes when Valentin danced with Valentina.”It made her happy to see him so radiant.

“We got to know each other through dancing and we are so happy through dancing,” she said in 2020. This has been the case for 18 years now. The Lusins have also been married for seven years.

At “Let’s Dance” on Friday evening (April 30) there were new challenges for both: In addition to the Discofox marathon, Valentin and Valentina were to dance a Charleston, while Renata and Rúrik had rehearsed a samba.
