It has taken a while for the Marvel Cinematic Universe to release its version of “Fantastic Four”, the Marvel Comics franchise. Stan Lee first created the iconic superhero team in the 1960s. However, live-action adaptations have been difficult for him. IMDb shows that the Marvel superteam received its first live action film in 1994. This entry is often regarded as one of the worst superhero films ever made, and it never received a theatrical release. The Fantastic Four was again attempted in 2005 with Chris Evans, Ioan Gruffud and Jessica Alba playing it. The film spawned “Fantastic Four and the Rise of the Silver Surfer”, a sequel that arguably had Evans’ best qualities. In 2015, Josh Trank directed a second reboot. It was met with mixed reviews from critics and audiences.
Following Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Studios, previously known as 20th Century Fox, the rights to the “Fantastic Four”, films made at that studio, were reverted back to the House of Mouse. This allowed the beloved quartet of heroes, to be incorporated into the MCU. Although it is not clear when they will make their debut, we know that Marvel has created a new “Fantastic Four”. The project was put into doubt in April when Jon Watts (originally attached to the helm of “Spider-Man: No Way Home”) announced that he would be stepping down. Deadline reported that he needed a break from directing the Tom Holland-directed “Spider-Man: No Way Home” trilogy.
Marvel fans are left with no clear choice of successor for the “Fantastic Four” reboot. Many have spoken out about their desire to see the person behind the camera.
MCU fans would love John Krasinski to be the Fantastic Four director.
John Krasinski, also known as Mr. Fantastic, in any future “Fantastic Four” movie. Krasinski even spoke out about the fan-casting phenomenon, telling ComicBook in March 2020 that he would love to play Mr. If he was approached, it would be fantastic. Many people are expressing a growing love for the actor and wishing that the director of “A Quiet Place”, as well as the lead role, will be able to take over the chair once more, just as he did for his horror film.
The internet has been abuzz with calls for Krasinski’s involvement in the film since Jon Watts left the MCU “Fantastic Four.” Project. Chris Killian, Comicbook.com, reminded his followers on Twitter of the conversation he had in 2020 with John Krasinski, writing: “I don’t have any inside information whatsoever but, based upon my conversation with John Krasinski, 2020, I would wager that this man will direct ‘Fantastic Four’.” @spiderman0801 tweeted that he would love to see @johnkrasinski direct “Fantastic 4”.
Watt’s departure was announced by @FistOfKhonshuu. He tweeted, “People talking John Krasinski staring and directing in ‘Fantastic Four’, that’s all I want. I don’t think I understand.” Reddit was also abuzz with discussion about Krasinski. Redditor U/oliver_435 posted about the production schedule of “Fantastic Four” and stated, “I really want John Krasinski acting in the movie and directing.” That would be incredible, I believe.
Although it remains to be seen if Kevin Feige or other Marvel Studios high-ranking executives will grant fans their wishes and offer Krasinski the job as a permanent position, it is clear that there is an audience who would welcome the idea.
