The actor Hannes Jaenicke (63) tried out a super-fast e-bike at the Hockenheimring. On Sunday he drove two laps on the well-known race track in the vehicle – albeit a little more carefully because of the rain-soaked road surface.
According to a spokesman for the manufacturer, the vehicle is strictly speaking a pedal-controlled electric motorcycle and can be operated just like an e-bike. “You always have to pedal to drive, otherwise it will roll,” he explained. You need a driving license for light motorcycles with a displacement of up to 125 cubic centimeters. The vehicle reaches a top speed of around 100 kilometers per hour.
Jaenicke, who is known for his environmental commitment, said about the fast e-bike: “The future of the mobility transition will consist of exactly these building blocks.” The campaign took place as part of the so-called e4 testival for new mobility, in which numerous exhibitors present themselves at the Hockenheimring.
