The Governor of Texas, Greg Abbott, has offered this Wednesday afternoon a press conference to update the information available on the tragic shooting that occurred yesterday at a school in that state, in which 19 people died, most of them children, plus two teachers.

Abbott said that the shooter, Salvador Ramos, 18, announced his intentions on Facebook half an hour before the massacre, adding that there was no record that the teenager, who suffered from bullying and a poor family and economic situation, suffered psychological problems.

One of the most tense moments of the press conference came when former Democratic candidate for governor of Texas, Beto O’Rourke, raised his voice to accuse Abbott of doing nothing to prevent new shootings from taking place.
