The popular Empress is back: The third season of the series “Sisi” starts on December 1, 2023. Fans can look forward to six new episodes, which will initially only be shown on RTL. It is not yet known when exactly the station will broadcast the first episode on linear television. Season three was filmed in Croatia, Latvia and Lithuania until August 2023.

Dominique Devenport (27) and Jannik Schümann (30) once again take on the roles of the legendary Empress Elisabeth (1837-1898) and Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria (1830-1916). New members of the “Sisi” ensemble include: Arian Wegener as Crown Prince Rudolf, Pauline Werner and Max Hubacher as Walli and Gustav, a romantic couple of crooks, Deniz Orta as Sisi’s companion Alma, Jakob Geßner as Albert, leader of the workers’ movement, and Daniel Friedrich as Archduke Franz Karl, father of Franz.

In the continuation of the series, Sisi faces a torment: between the fight for her own family, the longing for adventure and the obligations at court. Power struggles in Europe, workers’ unrest in Vienna and conflicts over educational issues put Sisi and Franz’s love to the test in the new episodes. In order to protect her son Rudolf in times of political unrest, Sisi frees the nine-year-old crown prince from military training and turns his back on the Hofburg. While escaping with Rudolf, she makes new friends and experiences adventures on a small island and in Paris.
