Last September, “Disgrace or Cash” returned to TV. RTL grabbed the format from ProSieben and launched a primetime program with original presenter Elton (52). In the spring, the station will also bring back Stefan Raab’s (57) game show “Schlag den Besten”.

The first three seasons ran on ProSieben from 2019. In seasons one and two, non-celebrities competed against each other in the “Beat the Star” duel principle. In the third season, the defending champion from the previous show fought against up to ten challengers per show.

In the new edition, which will be announced with four new episodes, eleven celebrities will compete against each other in ten games in four shows. “Sportsmanship and brains are required because the stakes are a whopping 10,000 euros per round,” says the announcement. Before each new challenge, the winner of a game has to decide whether he wants to continue playing or take the money he has earned home. In the final fourth show, the showdown follows, in which the two best celebrities of the season play for the season jackpot in the finale. The game show is hosted by Elton, who had already presented the previous seasons.

In the case of “Disgrace or Cash in”, the new edition has apparently paid off for RTL so far. As the broadcaster announced last Thursday, the third of twelve “Disgrace or Cash in” shows secured a market share of 14 percent among 14 to 49 year olds, thus achieving a primetime victory among young audiences. The quiz show achieved a market share of 9.7 percent among 14 to 59 year olds.
