Fans, friends, family, and others joined together to celebrate the Empress of Soul’s 78th birthday.
The “Neither One of Us” singer took a photo to Instagram and thanked everyone for their kind words. Knight wrote the caption, “I am overwhelmed by the outpouring love and well wishes for this birthday.” Thank you!

In her 60-year career, the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer has won seven Grammy awards and recorded almost 40 albums. Her greatest hits include the first version of “I Heard It Through the Grapevine” as well as “Midnight Train To Georgia”, which she released.
The singer performs solo shows that sell out across the U.S. and often collaborates with Dionne Warwick and Patti LaBelle. The trio reunited on Verzuz in 2020.
Knight and LaBelle, 78 performed classics such as “Lady Marmalade,” but Warwick, 81, surprised them by singing the 1985 cover of “That’s What Friends Are For.” This song was originally recorded by Knight and Warwick.
Warwick walked onto the stage and greeted her friends by giving them a kiss on their cheeks. She shared a smile and said, “I want to tell you all, y’all have been singing out here your faces off,” with a laugh. “I have loved every minute of it. It’s been wonderful.”
After singing the song, the trio closed the show with a powerful performance of Karyn’s “Superwoman.”
