Enrique Villena and Emma Torres, the promoters of Ibiza Inclusion Fashion Day, the first inclusive fashion show in the world, have presented the Inclusion Tour in Córdoba, a tour of different Spanish capitals in which this parade will come to life, reflecting the authentic diversity of society .
The next stop on this date with diversity will be the Andalusian capital, on October 8, where the journalist and psychologist Irene Villa will be the master of ceremonies. Valencia or Ibiza will be the next destinations for this event, of which a documentary is even being filmed, in March and April 2023, respectively. In addition, on July 18 the island of Pitiusa will be the scene of the Ibiza Inclusion Awards, a national awards ceremony that will highlight relevant people from the fields of culture, sport and society who have defended and supported integration.
The Córdoba Inclusion will take place in an emblematic and historical enclave of this capital and its proceeds will benefit the Córdoba Inclusiva platform, Cocemfe, a non-profit organization that coordinates associations of people with functional diversity to achieve their full social and labor integration .
Enrique Villena, businessman and model, and Emma Torres, educational psychologist and therapeutic pedagogue, Miss Empress Universe 2018, and who also has a 5-year-old daughter with Down Syndrome, were clear that they wanted to start a movement that defended social inclusion, education and employment of people with functional diversity and they considered that if they achieved real inclusion on a catwalk (the most complicated place to achieve it) they could demonstrate that it is possible in any field. “We had a dream and we decided to make it come true”, explained Enrique Villena for whom Córdoba has joined this current is not only great news for everyone but “a brave and firm commitment of this city to become, as Ibiza already did , in a benchmark of inclusion at the national and international level».
“The people who will parade next October 8 are much more than models and from their hand we will claim the full inclusion of vulnerable people fleeing from conventional stereotypes”, clarifies Emma Torres. “The Inclusion Tour has become a protest movement in favor of the social, educational and labor inclusion of people with functional diversity and of any person at risk of social exclusion,” says the promoter of it.
Córdoba Inclusion has two regional coordinators, the designer Trinidad Aguilar and Rosa María Sabalete, who are already advancing in the preparations for this event and who coordinated the casting for the parade last Saturday, May 7, and has the support of the Córdoba Provincial Council and the City Councils of Córdoba, Hornachuelos and Cabra, among others.
