One fan commented on a sweet picture of MGK with his mom that was posted to the pop-punker’s Instagram.
Machine Gun Kelly is trying to rebuild his relationship with his mom.
They posed together in a sweet photo shared to MGK’s Instagram on Thursday. The snap featured the punk-rocker holding two middle fingers while his mother (whose name is not known) gave a peace sign.
This is the first time the mother and her son have been publicly shared a photo since last year’s reconnection, years after they split up in their early years.
The 32-year old musician captioned the photo, “Introducing… My Mom”, and received positive comments from many MGK fans.
One Instagram user commented, “This is a big deal brother. So glad you guys reconnected.”
“After all these many years!” Another fan wrote, “I’m so happy to be with you!”
Born in Houston, Texas and raised there initially, MGK (real name Colson Baker) has previously spoken out about the absence of his mother during his childhood in a Lil Skies collaboration titled “Burning Memories” from his Hotel Diablo album. He said that she left their family when he turned 9 years old.
The musician moved to Denver, Colorado, with his father. He died in July 2020 from an unrelated, non-COVID-19-related, illness.
“Yeah. This one’s for my mama that I never knew / So I took acid to burn all my memories of you,” MGK sings on the 2016 track. “I guess now, I really want to know the truth / How did you leave your only child at nine for another man?”
