They are available in different versions: with down, made of wool, in a teddy look, made of light or thick fabric and so on. Coats are timeless and go with every outfit. They can be easily integrated into your existing wardrobe. And they are the best companions even for unpleasant weather conditions. It is not for nothing that they have already clung to the bodies of our parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. But the history of the coat goes back much further into the past.
Researchers from the Eurac Institute in Italy examined the wardrobe of the glacier mummy Ötzi, who died over 5,300 years ago. Among them was a cap made of bearskin, a quiver made of deerskin, and leggings made of goatskin. And also: a coat. It was made from a combination of goat and sheep skin. This no longer has to be the case these days, but there are many alternatives. Which styles suit which seasons? We’ll tell you.
As the days get longer and the temperatures rise, the slightly lighter coat makes its big appearance. Thin wool coats are perfect for spring and the transition into summer. Because in addition to sunny spring days, it will also be a little colder and stormy. Especially when spring is just waking up from hibernation. It’s not for nothing that it is said: “April does what he wants”. On dry days, light colors such as beige and creamy white harmonize perfectly with the blossoming nature. But checked patterns and bright colors are also permitted.
When summer is just around the corner, the motto is: less is more. This is also reflected in the coat trend for summer 2023. Be an eye-catcher with airy trench coats in summery colors. Since the nights in particular can be cooler, it helps to have a coat with you. The thin trench coats fit in most handbags and can be pulled over if necessary. Whether at a cozy campfire or on the way home at night after a summer party – the coat is always a good companion.
Autumn is a seasonal highlight with its splendor of colors. Do the same! Coats come in a variety of colors. The autumnal world of colors includes: brown, reddish brown, yellow, ocher, all shades of green as well as numerous earthy pastel tones. Adapt to the autumn environment like a chameleon. Steal the show from the golden brown treetops with your coat. You might also like to wear a leather coat – it looks particularly good in autumn colors. Wool coats and raincoats are there to help you on cold days. Do you like wearing dresses and skirts with transparent tights in autumn? No worries! The long coat protects your legs from the cold.
Snow, rain, frost – in winter there is shivering and shivering. A thick jacket is essential. What’s better than a coat that keeps your hips, knees or even calves warm? Admittedly, a ski suit beats a coat when it comes to warmth, but who wants to go to work in that?! The prettier alternative is the down coat. We recommend a lined, water-repellent coat with a relaxed fit and a loose fit. So that there is enough space underneath for the thick, cozy sweater.
