The organization of the indie-pop spring festival ‘Capital Fest’, in Talavera de la Reina has apologized to the people who attended the event last Saturday, due to the lack of foresight due to the high temperatures that were recorded during its celebration.
“We apologize to the attendees who could not enjoy the event as they would have expected, and we understand how you feel, we appreciate your patience and understanding,” the organization said in a statement.
According to data provided by the Red Cross, 75 people were assisted in the event, 50 of them because they suffered from heat dizziness and 25 due to cuts or falls, and five transfers to the Emergency Room were carried out, although there were no hospital admissions.
In this sense, the management of ‘Capital Fest’ has indicated that “the number of incidents was not greater than usual in an event of this type”, as well as that there was “no serious altercation to regret”.
And in relation to the high temperatures, they have said that the weather forecast changed in recent days, since in principle cloudy skies were expected and even “there was a certain probability of rain.” They recognized that there was a failure in the water supply of the six sources that had been enabled, which was solved “with the utmost urgency.”
In this context, the organizers have thanked the work carried out by the Talavera City Council, which diligently attended to their request and were able to count on the help of the firefighters “who watered the attendees from the truck to help them combat the high temperatures” .
And they have underlined that «as profound music lovers that we are, we promise to take good note of all your comments, to give you the best possible festival in future editions».
