They actually said yes: After 17 years as lovers and four children together, the actor couple Elena Uhlig (48) and Fritz Karl (55) got married on Friday in their homeland and their long-time adopted home of Austria. The magazine “Bunte” confirmed this in a short advance report. Pictures from the “romantic wedding” will be shown in the next issue.
After all, this much has already been revealed: The wedding party – family and friends – traveled on the river cruise ship from Passau to Austria. “We have rented a ship from the Amadeus fleet and are inviting our guests on a river cruise. We found it a very beautiful symbol of our life and our love: everything is in flow,” Uhlig is quoted as saying. And she adds: “That’s also why my friends and I wore all fascinators in the shape of a ship at the bachelorette party.”
In addition to the bride and groom, there were seven very special guests on board. The couple’s children, aged 16 to five, were there. The new husband Fritz Karl brought three into the marriage, and they had four more – two boys and two girls – together.
On a skiing vacation in February, the actor asked his loved one the question of all questions. After dinner in the hotel restaurant, Karl asked everyone to stay seated because he had something to say. Then he dug a ring box out of his trouser pocket, placed it in the middle of the table and said: “You’ve been my wife for a long time, but do you want to marry me too?” And she obviously said yes.
