When Anne Lise sits at her loom, everything goes haywire. However, the textile designer is by no means chaotic. With concentration, she guides a glittering thread through several dozen threads stretched vertically over a frame. Anne Lise follows a pattern that lies next to her, written down on a piece of paper. It shows number codes that, like a weaving plan, specify which thread she has to lift so that she can thread the yarn through. She repeats this process hundreds of times until hours later a special pattern emerges.
