Good news for fans of the dark Netflix series “Sandman”: As has now been officially confirmed, the Netflix production is getting a second season. The Instagram account for the series says: “The dream continues.” In addition, a statement from “The Sandman” inventor Neil Gaiman (61) was published, in which he attuned the fans of the TV adaptation to many more adventures.
“It gives me incredible pleasure to say that we will be bringing even more of the ‘Sandman’ stories to life. There are still some amazing stories waiting for Morpheus and company.” In addition to Tom Sturridge (36) as the title character, these include Jenna Coleman (36) as Johanna Constantine, Kirby Howell-Baptiste (35) as Death and Charles Dance (76) as Roderick Burgess. David Thewlis (59) plays John Dee, Stephen Fry (65) plays Gilbert and “Game of Thrones” star Gwendoline Christie (44) plays the role of Lucifer.
After more than 30 years, the series adaptation of Gaiman’s famous comic, which was considered unfilmable, was released in August this year. Sturridge plays the king of dreams, Morpheus. Trapped for 100 years, he is faced with the task of making amends for the mistakes he made during his infinite existence.
