Nick Carter (42) is in deep mourning after the death of his brother Aaron (1987-2022). The Backstreet Boys member wrote on Instagram that his heart was broken today. “Even though my brother and I had a complicated relationship, my love for him never faded,” explains Carter.
The singer always hoped that one day his younger brother would “be on a healthy path and finally find the help he so desperately needed”. Sometimes you want to blame someone or something for a loss, “but the truth is that addiction and mental illness are the real villains here,” Carter continues.
Aaron Carter was only 34 years old. He was found dead at his home in Lancaster, California on November 5. The cause of death has not yet been clarified. Nick Carter’s younger brother has struggled with drug addiction and mental health issues in recent years. In 2019, he made it public on US television that he had suffered from anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, manic depression and multiple personality disorders.
Nick Carter will miss Aaron more than anyone will ever know, the singer continues. Now Aaron is finally getting a chance to find the peace “that you could never find here on earth,” he writes. He ends the post with the words: “God, please take care of my little brother.” In addition, the singer published several pictures showing the two as children and teenagers.
