Ski Olympic champion Maria Höfl-Riesch (37) is currently working on a cruise ship. “I’m doing fitness training with the guests on board. Yesterday we were in Mauritius, then we’re going to the Seychelles and the Maldives,” she said in an interview with the “Augsburger Allgemeine”. Since 2015 she has been working several times a year on the “MS Europa 2”.
This Sunday, Höfl-Riesch can also be seen in connection with another “dream ship” – the one on ZDF. There she has a mini appearance as a dog sled driver and rescues Captain Parger (Florian Silbereisen) and his buddy from the snow in Lapland. “It was also nice to come back to Lapland, where I haven’t been since I retired,” she told the newspaper. “I have very good memories, the slalom slope in Levi was one of my favorite tracks.”
Unfortunately, she didn’t even see the “dream ship” herself: “I had an outside shoot in Lapland without a ship.” She owes her ZDF assignment to Silbereisen. “We meet up from time to time, we’ve already celebrated New Year’s Eve together. And Florian always steers acquaintances onto the dream ship.”
