The second season of the HBO series “The White Lotus” started at the end of October. It will probably not be the last new episodes that are currently shown weekly in Germany on Sky and its streaming service Wow. As HBO and Sky have announced, a third season is already planned.
The satire was initially conceived as a mini-series, but after the success of the first episodes it was continued in the form of an anthology series. The production garnered ten Emmys that year, including Best Miniseries. While the first season is still set in a resort of the fictional White Lotus chain in Hawaii, the second season takes place in Sicily with a new cast of guests. According to reports from Sky and HBO, new guests will travel to another of the hotel group’s destinations in the third season. Where exactly the third season will go and which actors will be arriving has not yet been revealed. Series creator Mike White (52) will again be responsible for the guests’ vacation in season three and will take over the script and direction.
