In 2023, the Golden Globes will again be presented live on television. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) has now announced the host: US comedian Jerrod Carmichael (35) will host the awards ceremony next year, which will take place on January 10, 2023 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills and live on NBC and Peacock is transmitted.

Carmichael is an Emmy Award winner and is best known for the sitcom The Carmichael Show and the stand-up special Rothaniel. The comedian also made several appearances on “Saturday Night Live”. He also appeared in smaller roles in films such as “Bad Neighbors” (2014), “Bad Neighbors 2” (2016) and “Transformers: The Last Knight” (2017).

“Jerrod is the special kind of talent this show is calling for to open awards season,” the HFPA President is quoted as saying in the press release.

The HFPA has recently come under repeated criticism and has had to deal with massive allegations of corruption and racism. In 2022, the Golden Globes were not broadcast on television for the first time. Most recently, it was said that the association would like to be much more diverse in the future.

December 12, 2022 will show whether the nomination list is different or whether it will once again cause criticism. Then the contenders for the Globes will be announced.
