Taylor Swift (32) is making her debut as a feature film director in partnership with Searchlight Pictures. The film studio, which sees Swift as an exceptional artist, has announced that the singer will not only direct. The feature film is also based on a screenplay penned by Swift.

Further details are to be announced at a later date, as reported by the industry magazine “Variety”. So far it is neither clear what the film is supposed to be about, nor which actors and actresses will be in it.

Swift is a once-in-a-generation artist and storyteller, said Searchlight bosses David Greenbaum and Matthew Greenfield. She continued: “It is a true pleasure and honor to work with her as she embarks on this exciting new creative journey.”

At the same time, this is not the first time that the singer has sat in the director’s chair. For example, she already shot the short film “All Too Well: The Short Film”. At the MTV Video Music Awards, Swift won multiple awards for Best Director, Best Longform Video and Music Video of the Year for All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor’s Version).

Swift also recently won six awards, including Artist of the Year and Best Music Video, at the American Music Awards, one of the most prestigious awards in the US music industry. She now has 40 of the trophies in her closet, which no artist before her has achieved.

In addition, the singer recently set records with her new album “Midnights”. She was the first artist to have her songs cover the entire top ten of the Billboard Hot 100 charts. In addition, she was able to climb to the top of the Official German Album Charts, determined by GfK Entertainment, with the record for the first time.
