The sequel to the 2018 animated film “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” is scheduled to hit cinemas in summer 2023. Sony Pictures has now released a trailer just before Christmas, which puts fans of the Marvel superhero in the mood for the new adventure “Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse”.
The trailer begins with Miles Morales (Shameik Moore, 27) and his mother, who worries that Miles isn’t her “little boy” anymore. She was aware that he wanted to do “big, important things”. But he had to promise his mother to “take good care of the little boy. Make sure he never forgets where he came from.”
In the trailer, fans can also see scenes with Spider-Gwen (Hailee Steinfeld, 26) and a cameo by the late Marvel icon Stan Lee (1922-2018).
In the next chapter of the “Spider-Verse” saga, Miles Morales is described by Sony Pictures as a “full-time Spider-Man” and catapulted across the multiverse, where he meets numerous Spider-Heroes. However, these clash and Miles has to compete against them. The trailer also shows how different Spider-Man variants fight each other.
The German theatrical release is planned for June 1, 2023. A third part is also planned. According to the current status, this will be titled “Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse” and will be released in cinemas at the end of March 2024.
