The AfD-Chairman Jörg Meuthen continues to demonstrate distance-right extremists. “Right-wing extremists, we do not tolerate in our ranks,” he said on Sunday in the ARD-“summer interview”. “They are very, very few that we have ever discovered, one and all to get out of the party” or have procedure a party of exclusion.

Meuthen secure expressed only vague plans for the Federal election
The Federal office for the protection of the Constitution (BfV) considers, among other things, the now officially defunct “wings” of the AfD as right-wing extremist. The members of the former grouping will continue to be monitored by the BfV. Meuthen said on Sunday that party members were “all unreasonable people, not at all”.
To the plans of the AfD for the election to the Bundestag expressed Meuthen only vaguely. On the question of whether the party would field a candidate for Chancellor, he said, he have to be the “really, no thoughts to waste”. He did not think, however, that such an approach “would not be wise”, as the AfD after the election, “foreseeable” to the Chancellor.
Also the top candidate for the Bundestag election would not comment Meuthen. In addition, the party would have to decide members. It is also still open whether there will be a single top candidate, or a Duo.
The survey values of the AfD are dropped in the Corona-crisis. In a recent survey for the “picture on Sunday” is the party to a mere ten percent. At the beginning of the year, the AfD had partly reached 15 percent.
