An ode to the creator of the african
The images have become viral in a short time and the collection is already ” sold out “. No rhinestones or sequins, still less of stars sitting in the first row, and, yet, the silhouettes move in the black background as if the clothes were worn by someone. Everything looks natural… From the dress to the bare back to the colors of the flag of congo with sleeves exaggerated, passing by the white long skirt in satin and the ruching recalling with forces and details of the generous forms. And what about that silk dress that goes down to the ground with glints of blue and green described as the meeting of the river Congo with the regions green of the rich DRC. Female models, generous and structured, designed for women with more curves away from the usual standards. “The girl Hanifa is a boss ; she is not afraid to be bold, she is sexy, her style is feminine. When I started to create, I’m mostly focused on making clothes comfortable and what my friends would like. Then, I have developed more design for black women. When I draw, I draw for women of colour, and I use colors that suit our skin tone, things that are suitable to our hips and different proportions “, she explained to our colleagues on the She american.
A collection dedicated to the Congo
through its models, Anifa Mvuemba tells the story of his country : the democratic Republic of the Congo. But also the history of african creators to whom she dedicates this collection. “During the creation of each piece, I am reminded of the stories my mother told about the woman she knew at her home in the Congo. Women who have suffered great losses, but who have shown incredible strength, ” writes the designer, who is born and still lives in the State of Maryland in the United States.

a Renewed approach to fashion shows
It must be said that the stylist congolese 29-year-old is working with 3D images since the beginning of his career, but has long hesitated before launch for fear that people do not understand the concept. But at a time when the fashion industry is wondering about its future, and in particular on the future of parades, Anifa Mvuemba, has served the constraint of the containment to innovate and bring customers to it. “Design the content using 3D models, and now the whole collection has completely changed the game for me. This requires a greater attention to detail as the clothes fit and are perfect, “has recently entrusted the designer of the brand “Hanifa” to Teen Vogue.
And the young woman does not stop in so good way. She hopes to mark the world of fashion, especially as she has become over the years a reliable value of the fashion shows of the most prestigious as New York’s Fashion Week. It dresses also regularly celebrities, including the rapper Cardi B singers Kelly Rowland, Ciara, Jennifer Hudson and even Kylie Jenner, of the famous family Kardashian. That is to say how much his voice matters in this universe in search of renewal. Breakneck pace of the four Fashion Weeks, annual, over-production, huge investments in parades that last for 10 minutes : the fashion houses think of the after-epidemic. Anifa Mvuemba has taken quite a step ahead.
