Within six laps, he stopped Felix Caraballo (13-2-2, 9 K. o.) from Puerto Rico in the main fight of the Night by T. K. o. after he beat his opponent in the First and Sixth low. For Caraballo, it is the first knockout defeat in his professional career, the 100-to-1 favorite with a body shot inflicted. For Stevenson, the evening was a Premiere in another respect: Not only the first battle after the break, but at the same time made his debut in the super Featherweight, after he had previously fought in the Featherweight. The 22-year-old winner described the fight from his point of view: “I hit him early with all what was going on. He came a few Times to Fluctuate. He has much and I realized that a head hit would not stop him. So I’m gone on the body. He has opened a large gap, and since I caught him with a clean blow.“
Stevenson was originally. his WBO world champion title in the Featherweight on 14 March against Miguel Marriaga (29-3, 25 K. o.) to defend, but the fight had to be cancelled due to the pandemic. Although Stevenson on 9. June in the super Featherweight fought, is the defense of the title, which would also bring him a much larger stock, still on his Radar. “You have not mentioned Marriaga,” said he “BoxingScene.com”. “I’m guessing that he was not allowed to enter the country. But the fight could take place in the future. Or maybe we’ll get an even bigger Fight. I don’t know. Marriaga is a solid opponent, maybe we can get him in the Ring. We need to see how everything develops with the pandemic.“
