The American Danielle Collins crowned her surprising triumph at the Tennis Masters in Miami with victory in the final.

The world number 53. prevailed in her first final of a WTA 1000 tournament against the favorite Kazakh Jelena Rybakina 7:5, 6:3. After 2:02 hours, Collins converted her fourth match point to victory. The 30-year-old, who wants to end her career at the end of the season, was only the third unseeded player in a final in Miami.

In the men’s final on Sunday, Australian Open winner Jannik Sinner from Italy and Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrow will face each other. Dimitrow had defeated the German Olympic champion Alexander Zverev in three sets in the semifinals and surprisingly also knocked the Spanish world number two Carlos Alcaraz out of the competition in the previous round. But the clear favorite is Sinner.
