The Melbourne Docklands are the mega project of a beguiling city. Investments worth billions have created the most modern apartments for 30,000 rich people in the old port facilities, as well as a great football stadium and, of course, futuristic hotels. Not directly on the waterfront, but just a row behind palm trees is the mirrored hotel where the German soccer players spent a second night before boarding the plane to Newcastle on Tuesday at around 1:30 p.m. local time and then going back to their quarters in Wyong.
