Formula 1 is scheduled to start the season for the first time in Saudi Arabia in 2024. This information comes from an announcement in which Australia has now announced that there will be a premier motorsport race in Melbourne until at least 2037.

“Part of the deal sees Melbourne hosting the first race of the Formula 1 season for at least four years between 2023 and 2037. Out of respect for Ramadan, the first race of the 2024 Formula 1 season will be held in Saudi Arabia ‘” the Victorian state government said in a statement.

Ramadan in 2024 begins on March 10th and lasts until April 8th. That would mean that the start of the season is expected to take place in early March. There is no official confirmation for the time or place of the start in the year after next. The upcoming Formula 1 season begins on March 5, 2023 in Bahrain. The route in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, is the second stop of the year on March 19. The newly built Jeddah Corniche Circuit has only been in operation since 2021, when a ten-year contract was signed.
