Jean-Paul Boetius is back on the training ground. After his shock diagnosis of testicular cancer, the 28-year-old had to undergo surgery, but is on the mend and is working on his comeback.
Hertha BSC was hit by the next shock message at the end of September. After Marco Richter, a testicular tumor was also discovered in Jean-Paul Boetius.
The 28-year-old had to have an operation, but fortunately chemotherapy was not necessary. “The investigations have shown that no chemotherapy will be necessary. We are all happy about that, the entire Hertha family is very happy about that. That’s very, very gratifying,” said Hertha.
Coach Sandro Schwarz, who knows “Djanga” well from his days in Mainz, said after his visit to the midfielder: “He hasn’t lost his smile.”
And this smile can now be seen again on the Hertha training ground. On Thursday afternoon, the old lady shared a video of the 28-year-old’s individual training session.
“I would like to thank you again for the support and the good news. I hope to see you again soon in the stadium,” said Boetius with a big grin.
