President Thomas Weikert was re-elected at the general meeting of the German Olympic Sports Confederation on Saturday in Baden-Baden. The 61-year-old lawyer from Limburg in Hesse was elected for a four-year term with 434 out of 438 votes.
Weikert succeeded Alfons Hörmann in early elections in December 2021. The business manager from Bavaria had no longer run as a candidate in the course of a leadership crisis in the umbrella organization of German sports.
