Randal Kolo Muani from Eintracht Frankfurt was voted the best outfield player of the past season in a poll conducted by “Kicker” among Bundesliga professionals.
As the magazine announced, the 24-year-old Frenchman received 24.2 percent of the votes from his colleagues when asked which field player impressed them the most in terms of sport. Behind the dangerous international came Jude Bellingham (17.5 percent), who is moving from Borussia Dortmund to Real Madrid, and Niclas Füllkrug (11.9) from Werder Bremen. Last year’s winner Christopher Nkunku, who goes from RB Leipzig to Chelsea, received only 1.6 percent of the votes cast.
The question of the winner among the coaches was much closer. Switzerland’s Urs Fischer, who qualified for the Champions League for the first time with 1. FC Union Berlin, prevailed over ex-Spanish international Xabi Alonso from Bayer Leverkusen. Fischer got 21.8 percent of the votes, Alonso 21.0.
Absolute majority for Haaland
Unsurprisingly, the Norwegian Erling Haaland was voted the best offensive player in the world with an absolute majority of 52.0 percent. 131 of the 252 participating professionals voted for Manchester City’s Champions League winner. He was followed by Haaland’s teammate Kevin De Bruyne (14.3) and Kylian Mbappé (13.1) from Paris Saint-Germain.
