Basketball star Nikola Jokic led defending NBA champion Denver Nuggets to a win over the Golden State Warriors.

The Serbian center spectacularly converted the decisive throw from just behind the center line at the last second to make it 130:127 (70:63). With a total of 34 points, ten assists and nine rebounds, the two-time most valuable player in the league once again showed a brilliant performance. Jokic hit 13 of his 16 shots from the field.

After a strong third quarter, Golden State took the lead in the duel between the last two champions. But in the last two minutes, star player Stephen Curry’s team couldn’t score any more points, and Denver took the last ten points of the game. Curry scored 30 points, but missed his last two throws and lost the game-winning turnover four seconds before the end.

Bucks star Antetokounmpo with 44 points

In the second game of the evening, the Milwaukee Bucks narrowly won 125:121 (64:59) at the San Antonio Spurs. Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 44 points and 14 rebounds, while number one draft pick Victor Wembanyama had 27 points, nine rebounds and five blocks on his 20th birthday.

It was the 25th win of the season for Denver and Milwaukee, and both teams are clearly on course for the playoffs. Golden State, on the other hand, has a negative record and is currently not even in a place for the play-in tournament. Despite the strong performances of rookie Wembanyama, San Antonio is bottom of the Western Conference with just five wins this season.
