Alba Berlin remains leader of the Basketball Bundesliga. The Berliners won with a lot of effort at the bottom of the table Würzburg Baskets with 79:76 (41:45). For Alba it was the eighth league win in a row. Best Berlin throwers were Louis Olinde with 23 and Yanni Wetzell with ten points.

The capitals got into the game equally well and hit their first four long-range shots. So Alba was quickly 14:5 in the lead. But then Würzburg also came up to operating temperature. Whipped on by the noisy supporters, it was Stanley Whittaker in particular who brought his team back. The pointguard scored all of his 16 points in the first half.

At the end of the first quarter, Alba fell behind for the first time (16:18). But the Berliners remained calm, punished the hosts’ mistakes and were then back in front. But the Franks stayed tuned and Alba now revealed some weaknesses on the defensive. The Franconians regained the lead shortly before the break.

After the change of sides, the guests got off to a better start thanks to a more intensive defense and again drew ahead to nine points (58:49). But this time they let it go again. Now it was hard fought again and the lead changed back and forth. The decision was only made 1.4 seconds before the end when Tim Schneider scored with a three-point throw.
