The German mixed quartet finished the first relay of the World Championships in Athletics in seventh place. Manuel Sanders, Alica Schmidt, Jean Paul Bredau and Elisa Lechleitner finished the 4 x 400 meters in Budapest in 3:14.27 minutes.

The World Championship title went to the USA relay team, who won in a world record time of 3:08.80 minutes ahead of the teams from Great Britain and the Czech Republic. Femke Bol from the Netherlands fell shortly before the finish line in a gripping gold fight.

Discus thrower Janssen trembles in the final

In the discus competition, Henrik Janssen from Magdeburg trembled in twelfth place in the final on Monday evening. The German champion threw the discus 63.79 meters. Daniel Jasinski and Steven Richter did not succeed in progressing.

The former European triple jump champion Max Hess missed the final on Monday evening with 16.48 meters in 18th place. The only 18-year-old Jamaican Jaydon Hibbert is the best after 17.70 meters.

Over 1500 meters, Frankfurt’s Amos Bartelsmeyer had the misfortune that he just missed the semi-finals in seventh place in a fast forward. On the day before Gina L├╝ckenkemper started, Julian Wagner clearly missed making it into the next round in 10.31 seconds on the 100-meter distance.
