Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is coming to Germany next Friday, November 17th: it will be his first official visit to the country since 2020, when he took part in a Libya conference, then under Chancellor Angela Merkel. Erdoğan recently attracted attention with controversial statements about the war in Gaza – after the terrorist attack on Israel with more than 1,400 deaths, he described the Islamist Hamas as a “liberation organization”.
