Denis Doyle, of Jupiter, FL, and Rochester, NY, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2025, in Jupiter, FL. Born on Christmas Day in Buffalo, NY—a fact he never let anyone forget—Denis often joked that he was Jesus.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Daphne Helen Doyle (née Peacock) of Toronto, ONT. After her passing, he found love and adventure again with his partner, Barbara Galbraith of Pittsford, NY. Together, they split their time between Jupiter and Rochester, filling their days with travel, family, and friends.

Denis is survived by his three children, D’Arcy Kenneth Doyle (Caroline) of San Francisco, CA, Denis Sean Doyle (Martha) of Laramie, WY, and Shannon McCrea Doyle (Gilbert Hundley) of Teton Valley, ID. He was a proud grandfather to Corley, Maggie, McCrea, Samantha, and Spencer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Bud Doyle and Harriet C. Doyle, as well as his brothers, EJ “Skip” Doyle (Edie) and Richard “Dick” Doyle (Carol).

A proud graduate of Nichols School in Buffalo and Williams College in Massachusetts, Denis thrived both in the classroom and on the ice. As goalie and captain of the Williams men’s hockey team, he carried his love for competition and camaraderie throughout his life.

Denis built a long and respected career as a stockbroker and money manager, spending over 50 years with Reynolds & Co., Dean Witter, and Morgan Stanley. His sharp mind, steady hand, and unwavering integrity earned the trust of colleagues and clients alike.

Sailing was his great passion. From racing 6-meter sailboats with his father and brother on Lake Ontario to competing in Lightning, Soling, and Nonsuch fleets, he found pure joy on the water. His happiest moments were spent sailing in the crisp autumn air aboard his beloved Nonsuch, Bangalore, with his loyal yellow lab—and self-proclaimed “favorite” Doyle—Cardi, by his side.

Denis’ life will be celebrated in Rochester, NY, in the summer of 2025.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Jupiter Medical Center in Jupiter, FL, the American Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice.

Sail on, Denis. Fair winds and following seas. You will be deeply missed.
