The air is getting thinner and thinner for the candidates of “Germany’s Next Top Model”: In the 14th episode broadcast yesterday, media designer Sara (28) from Berlin and archeology student Aldin (23) from Munich were eliminated.
“It felt more like a dress rehearsal and not like the show,” was host Heidi Klum’s (50) verdict on the dance performance by Sara and her fellow contestants Fabienne (21) and Grace (25). The performance was not diverse enough. “I’ll keep going,” Sara promised.
“Aldin, you were ahead for a really long time and were one of the best runners, but now the competition has overtaken you. I think you remained rather pale today too,” were Klum’s words about the Munich player’s performance. Aldin thanked him and, as a farewell, elicited an invitation from Heidi Klum to her traditional Halloween party in New York: “I do the hottest Halloween looks.”
Lip-Sync vor Joan Collins
The challenge was to dance a well-rehearsed choreography and sing along to a text with your lips. Then we went down the catwalk – under the eyes of a big star. The actress Joan Collins (90), known as the villain from the TV series “The Denver Clan,” sat on the jury that evening. In the role of Alexis Colby, Collins was a TV icon in the 1980s.
Heidi Klum raved about her guest judge on the show: “She is not only an absolute world star, but also one of my absolute childhood heroes.” She has been in the spotlight for over 70 years and it is not for nothing that she is the last grande dame in Hollywood. “It is a special honor for me as a Denver Clan fan that she is my guest today.”
And so there are now 12 models in the running for the title of Germany’s Next Top Model. Xenia (24) and Kadidja (21) did not have to go on the catwalk. The two had already qualified for the next round at a casting for a swimwear brand earlier in the show. And next time? The models have to be naked in front of the camera.
