In “Tatort: ??Hackl” (March 12, 8:15 p.m., the first), a death leads the commissioners Ivo Batic (Miroslav Nemec, 68) and Franz Leitmayr (Udo Wachtveitl, 64) to the constantly angry Johannes Bonifaz Hackl. It is played by the award-winning theater and film star Burghart Klaußner (73). Meanwhile, assistant Kalli (Ferdinand Hofer, born 1993) is interviewing fitness influencer Kenny, played by football star Joshua Kimmich (28).
The young Adam Moser (Tolga Türk) dies in a motorbike accident at night. But the death raises questions and so detectives Batic and Leitmayr investigate in the northern Munich district of Hasenbergl. Here the deceased lived with his girlfriend Julia Rosenheimer (Irina Kurbanova) in a small bungalow in the middle of the district’s anonymous high-rise buildings. Old Hackl lives in the house next door, a well-known troublemaker whose anger potential is not only notorious among the Munich police.
Did Hackl have something against Adam too? Enough that he had to die? As always, the old grumbler (Bavarian for: a grumpy person) makes things difficult for the authorities and violently evades enforcement. The atmosphere between Batic and Leitmayr is at rock bottom, while a large-scale search for Hackl begins…
Yes. The thriller takes place in a large housing estate in Munich and shows a world full of frustration, narrowness and envy. Hackl is particularly frustrated, a grumbler like in the Bayern picture book. Burghart Klaussner embodies the man who throws fish innards at playing children or insults a police officer during a search. He once again lives up to his reputation as a theater and film star.
It is not for nothing that the native Berliner, who lived with his family in Gräfelfing near Munich as a teenager until he moved back to Berlin to study, has received countless awards, including: German film prizes were awarded for “The fat years are over” (2004) and “The White Ribbon” (2009). The Bavarian Film Prize and the Peace Prize of German Film – The Bridge for his role in “Der Staat gegen Fritz Bauer” (2015). In 2021 he was also honored with the Cross of Merit 1st Class of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
And another personality is exciting. In between, FC Bayern star Joshua Kimmich keeps making small appearances. He plays fitness trainer Kenny, who has also made a name for himself as an influencer. Incidentally, the fact that Kalli is a Kenny fan wasn’t in the script from the start. Instead, it only developed after the soccer star’s commitment. “After he said yes, we had the idea that Kalli could become a fan of Kenny and inspire him to be more interested in his physical fitness. The script was then adapted afterwards,” reveals Ferdinand Hofer News agency spot on news.
Lots of funny dialogues, which can only come from the popular Munich inspectors and their colleagues, round off the successful crime thriller. The fact that the resolution of the case seems a bit constructed really doesn’t matter. Thus, based on a Leitmayr saying in the film, the BR team was called out: “Macht’s sche weida…”
