Pink (44), David Guetta (56) and Swedish House Mafia were already there: The Austrian ski resort of Schladming traditionally relies on big names in the music business for its season opening. This year it is the turn of none other than Robbie Williams (49). On Thursday evening (December 7th), the pop superstar performed his first of two concerts in front of more than 12,000 fans at the Planai Stadium.

He remained true to his trademark “entertainment”: “The first rule of entertainment is: You have to love your audience. But instead of explaining to you what entertainment is – why don’t I just show you?” said Williams at the beginning of the show . And then he delivered: In total, the singer performed his best-known hits from “Let Me Entertain You” to “Rock DJ” to “Angels” for around 100 minutes. The former boy band member also performed the Take That song “Back For Good” as well as a cover of the Oasis hit “Don’t Look Back in Anger”.

The sub-zero temperatures couldn’t bring the experienced performer down – Robbie kept warm with gloves and a scarf around his neck. Before the crowning conclusion with his mega hit “Angels”, Williams thanked his fans, who, along with his wife Ayda Field Williams (44), were the reason why he was able to fight his “inner demons”.

Robbie Williams arrived on Wednesday evening after a performance in Australia via a stopover in Switzerland, where the singer has owned a house in Gstaad for several months. The second concert follows on Friday evening (December 8th). According to the organizer, a total of around 25,000 fans are expected on both days.
