Pop star Robbie Williams (49) and his wife Ayda Field (43) have spoken about the fact that they hardly have sex with each other anymore. Since he stopped receiving testosterone injections, he has had libido problems. Nevertheless, the couple emphasizes that they are very happy.
The Take That star told Britain’s The Sun: “Everybody knows there’s no sex after marriage. That’s just the way it is. I was on testosterone for a while but because I’m an addict I had to stop. I got these massive square shoulders and started looking like a bouncer. It didn’t look good. But the sex we had when I was taking testosterone was amazing. It was all the time. We were insatiable.” But because the testosterone made his depression worse, he had to stop taking it.
Williams looks back on the time when it was still going on in his marriage bed: “I miss that. It was a fun time. Sometimes Ayda turns to me on the sofa now and says, ‘We should have sex’ and I sit there, eat a tangerine and just shrug. Well, you know, sometimes we try.” The singer and actress stressed that the sex lull isn’t a problem for them. It is more important that you are “on the same page” when it comes to intimacy. Ayda Field says, “I think people confuse sex with intimacy. We’re always cuddling and kissing, holding hands and touching just on the sofa watching TV or a movie or whatever.” Intimacy is the important, meaningful side of love: “We are happy.”
The topic has been around for a long time in the relationship of the stars. Field had already reported on the Corona lockdown in the joint podcast in the summer of 2020: “You either have a lot of sex with your partner or you hate him. I think we’ve found a good balance for ourselves by having neither: neither Sex and no fighting.”
The couple has been together since 2006 and married in Beverly Hills in 2010. The family is completed by children Theodora (10), Charlton (8), Coco (4) and Beau (4).
