The Swedish royal family appears to be planning a full house for Christmas. Because even the daughter who emigrated to the USA, Princess Madeleine (40), will fly to her old home over the holidays. “Princess Madeleine and her family plan to celebrate Christmas at home in Sweden this year,” palace spokeswoman Margareta Thorgren told Swedish newspaper Svensk Damtidning.
Madeleine will be arriving from Florida with her husband (since 2013) Christopher O’Neill (48) and their three children – Princess Leonore (8), Princess Adrienne (4) and Prince Nicolas (7). Madeleine’s mother, Queen Silvia (78), should be particularly happy because she also celebrates her 79th birthday on December 23rd.
The youngest of the three children of Silvia and King Carl XVI. Gustaf (76) tries “to come to Sweden at least twice a year, usually at Christmas and in the summer,” Thorgren continued. Although the royal family had hoped that the American branch of the family would come to Europe before the Nobel celebrations, Madeleine and Co. rejected the idea.
Princess Madeleine was last in Sweden in the summer. For the 45th birthday of her sister, Crown Princess Victoria, she traveled alone.
