A picture of the sleeping newborn can be seen on the account of the Belgian royal family. It said: “Prince Amedeo and Princess Elisabetta are delighted to announce the birth of their daughter Alix. She was born in Brussels on Saturday 2 September and weighs 3.4kg and is doing well like her mother.” Numerous congratulations from her followers can be found in the comments section.

Prince Amedeo, the eldest son of King Philippe’s (63) sister Princess Astrid (61), and Elisabetta “Lili” Rosboch von Wolkenstein have been married since 2014.
