As every year, friends of political discussions have to do without their favorite moderators for several weeks during the summer break. Already in the second half of June the first political talks say goodbye to the well-deserved TV holidays.
Here is an overview of the vacation times for the programs on Erste and ZDF:
The new “hard but fair” moderator Louis Klamroth (33) is the first to say goodbye to this year’s summer break. After the last edition of his Monday talk in the first on June 19, he disappears from the screen for seven weeks and returns to TV on August 14.
According to the broadcaster, the ARD Sunday talk “Anne Will” goes on vacation after the broadcast on July 9th and returns on September 10th. For presenter Anne Will (57), this is the last summer break of her talk show. After around 16 years, she will say goodbye to her viewers at the end of the year and hand over the slot to someone else. A successor has not yet been determined.
Sandra Maischberger (56) also treats herself to a summer break from her talk show “Maischberger”, which is broadcast twice a week on ARD. The last show will be on July 12th, and from September 12th the presenter will once again have exciting discussions for her viewers with guests from politics, business and journalism.
There is no question that power talker Markus Lanz (54) occasionally has to recover from his talk show broadcast three times a week on ZDF. From July 20th he will say goodbye to the screen to return on August 22nd. On June 1, 2023, the moderator celebrated the 15th anniversary of his successful format. Since the first broadcast on June 3, 2008, he discussed his way through a total of 1812 broadcast dates.
Lanz’ ZDF colleague Maybritt Illner (58) also goes on talk vacation after the last edition of her program of the same name on July 20th. The first edition after the summer break will then be available again on August 31st.
