Anyone who has always wanted to get a taste of royal air now has the opportunity to do so. For short-term overnight stays, a house on the Queen’s private estate in Sandringham can be booked through Airbnb.
The building was once the home of His Majesty’s head gardener on the Norfolk grounds where the royals spend their Christmas celebrations. If you want to spend the night here, you have to stay at least three nights. The property can accommodate up to eight guests – next March, for example, an overnight stay will cost 412 euros.
“This charming retreat owned by HM The Queen, nestled in the heart of her popular country retreat of the Sandringham Estate and the closest estate to Sandringham House itself, is all about an appreciation of nature and the beautiful gardens in which it is set”, it says in the Airbnb description. The gardens are a real delight and a fitting backdrop for the house.
Two floors are available to visitors: “Eclectically furnished from the Royal Collection, all the furniture and pictures were once housed in a royal residence.” As well as formal gardens, there is also a casual garden where children and dogs can play.
The Sandringham Exhibition is also located on the property
The royal estate is just a short drive from the beaches of North Norfolk. Holidaymakers can look forward to a beautiful landscape with lavender fields and wide meadows. A visit to a typical English village is also a must.
