Who is this man with short gray hair? That’s probably what many fans were wondering on the red carpet of the AFI Life Achievement Award Gala. Mike Myers (60), the star of the “Austin Powers” films, surprised everyone in Los Angeles at the weekend with a completely new look.
The Canadian has become rare in recent years. At his last public appearance over a year ago, he still had brown hair. This is how fans have known him since the 90s. The comedian recently appeared a bit bloated in pictures and video recordings, but that is no longer visible. His facial features are noticeably slimmer.
Mike Myers attended the gala in honor of Nicole Kidman (56), who was honored for her life’s work. He entered the stage wearing a Venetian mask and a black cape. The outfit is based on the famous masked ball scene from Kidman’s film “Eyes Wide Shut.” Myers then took off his mask and coat and gave a speech.
Mike Myers is rarely seen not only on the red carpet, but also on the screen. His most recent works date from 2022: the film flop “Amsterdam” and the Netflix miniseries “The Pentaverate,” in which he embodies eight different characters.
For years there has been speculation that Myers could slip into his signature role of Austin Powers for the fourth time. But the actor doesn’t want to commit himself here. At the 2019 Oscars, he revealed that there were plans for “Austin Powers 4”. “But I can neither confirm nor deny the existence or non-existence of such a program, whether it exists or not,” he said. But he indicated that in the case of a fourth part, it would most likely be about Power’s rival Dr. Evil would go, which Myers also played.
In his last interview on the topic so far in 2022, he put a “big, firm, written maybe” behind “Austin Powers 4.”
