The ZDF political talk “Maybrit Illner” reached an average of half a million fewer viewers in 2022 than in the particularly successful previous year. “A total of 2.60 million viewers saw the 39 regular “Maybrit Illner” editions this year,” said ZDF.
The market share was 14.5 percent. In 2021 there was the highest viewer response since the broadcast began in 1999. Around 3.1 million viewers watched the 40 regular editions (average market share 15.2 percent). In 2020, the then 41 programs were watched by an average of 2.88 million viewers.
In addition to the regular issues, there were also four “Maybrit Illner special” issues in 2022 – on February 24th and 27th and on March 6th on the war in Ukraine and on December 1st on the situation in Iran.
Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) was a guest of Maybrit Illner twice. An above-average 4.15 million viewers watched his first appearance on March 3 about the “War in Ukraine”. After the Christmas break, Illner will only continue in the new year – on Thursday, January 12, 2023 (10:15 p.m.).
