Actor Mark Wahlberg (51) dared to move from Los Angeles to Las Vegas. Together with his wife Rhea Durham (44) and their four children, he has been living in the US state of Nevada for a few months – and sees the move as a “real new beginning for all of us”. That’s what Wahlberg told the “Bild am Sonntag”.

In the desert state it is “much freer” and gives “more space”. “I see a lot more opportunities for me and my family here,” Wahlberg said. The move offers new opportunities, especially for his children: “My daughter wants to have her own horse and stable, my youngest wants to play more golf.”

But the move is not entirely selfless: “Honestly, I would finally like to work from home.” In California he only shot a handful of films on site and was mostly on the road. “Now I want to work from home. And this is Nevada now.” The actor recently announced on the US talk show “The Talk” that he wants to set up a film studio in Nevada, a kind of “Hollywood 2.0”. As early as 2017, he and his brother opened a restaurant in Las Vegas and announced even then that they were considering moving to Las Vegas.
