“LOL: Last One Laughing” fans watch out: It goes on! The fifth season of the comedy show will be broadcast on Prime Video at Easter 2024. The streaming service announced this on Friday. “High Five! And now everyone: Shu shu shu, sha sha sha, next year the fifth season will be here,” says host Michael Bully Herbig (60).

At the same time, Amazon also reports a record for the past fourth season of the award-winning show. “Season four is the most-streamed German title of all time on Prime Video in Germany and Austria,” the statement said. And the “Shu Shu Shu” clip with Anke Engelke (57) and Bastian Pastewka (51), in which they act as a hit duo Jenny, also reached social networks

The six-part show features ten comedy, stand-up, and acting professionals trying not to laugh while trying to get each other to laugh. The viewers are served a mix of “stand-up, character comedy or improvisation” – full physical effort included.

If you laugh, you’re out. Whoever laughs last wins. The whole thing is monitored by comedy specialist Bully from his control room. The prize money of 50,000 euros will be donated to a good cause.

The German version of “LOL: Last One Laughing” is an adaptation of the popular Japanese original series by and starring Hitoshi Matsumoto (59). Other versions are running in Mexico, Australia, Italy, France, India, Spain, Canada, Brazil, the Netherlands and Poland. Star comedian Trevor Noah (39) will be the host in South Africa and legendary show host Graham Norton (60) in Ireland.
