Shocking moment for football superstar Kevin De Bruyne (32). As the British “Daily Mail” reports, among others, the Belgian home of the midfielder working for Manchester City was vandalized by burglars. However, at the time of the break-in last Saturday, De Bruyne, his wife Michèle Lacroix and their three children were not there. The star player is currently in Saudi Arabia with his team.
It is not yet known which items were stolen. Using a stepladder, the criminals gained access to the first floor of the villa in Bolderberg and thus got into the house. The former Werder Bremen and VfL Wolfsburg professional bought a 70-hectare property in 2015. He then built an opulent villa made of white natural stone, which was completed in 2019. According to media reports, the property will have a swimming pool, a hot tub and a basketball court.
Kevin De Bruyne is one of the top earners in the Premier League with a rumored annual salary of almost 25 million euros. Naturally, De Bruyne and his family are rarely seen in the villa in Belgium: during the season they live in a house in Wilmslow, just a few kilometers south of Manchester.
De Bruyne initially played for the Belgian club Genk and moved to the island for the first time in 2012. However, he was unable to assert himself at Chelsea FC and was loaned to Bremen after just a few weeks. The permanent move to Wolfsburg took place in 2014. The dangerous midfielder went back to England for a year. Since then he has played for Manchester City and has been champion there five times. The team won the Champions League in 2023.
