With her role as the heroine Katniss Everdeen in the novel adaptation “The Hunger Games”, Jennifer Lawrence’s (32) career, which even brought her an Oscar in 2013, finally got rolling. In 2015, the four-part film series about Katniss, which began in 2012, came to an end. Eight years after this finale, Lawrence can now apparently imagine a comeback to the dystopian future world, as “Variety” revealed.

When asked if she’d like to reprise the role, the Oscar-winning actress replied, “Oh my god, absolutely! If Katniss could ever come back into my life, I would be 100 percent.” With a wink, she then looked to the side and said: “My production partner just took it to heart.”

“The Hunger Games” is the film adaptation of the book trilogy of the same name by author Suzanne Collins (60). Another film from the universe will be released in November this year, but Lawrence will not be able to play her prime role in it. The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is a prequel set decades before Katniss was born.

The focus of the prehistory is the young Coriolanus Snow. Tom Blyth (28) embodies the later President of Panem, who played Donald Sutherland (87) in the previous films. Blyth has a special role in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. He’s tasked with mentoring the kids as they compete in the deadly games of the premiere installment of the gruesome Hunger Games.

“West Side Story” star Rachel Zegler (22) will play the female lead Lucy Gray Baird, another new character is Dean Casca Highbottom. It is played by “Game of Thrones” star Peter Dinklage (53) and is one of the co-inventors of the Hunger Games.

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is slated to hit theaters on November 16, 2023.
