When it comes to sex scenes in films and series, less is often more for Henry Cavill (40). The British acting star said this in Josh Horowitz’s “Happy Sad Confused” podcast. Although such scenes are sometimes appropriate, in his opinion they often contribute little or nothing to the story and he is “not a fan”.

“I think there are situations in which a sex scene is actually useful for a film – and not just for the audience,” is the view of the Brit, who is known for roles such as “Superman” in several films and Geralt of Rivia known in the series “The Witcher”. However, sex scenes are “sometimes overused these days.” So you can get the feeling: “Is this really necessary? Or are there just people with less clothes?” This is also the point at which you start to feel uncomfortable and ask yourself whether there is really an acting performance in the particular case and whether it is a scene that has an impact on the rest of the film.

In Cavill’s opinion, “Sex scenes in a movie could be great. They can really help with the storytelling. Most of the time, human imagination will trump them [however].” The actor sees too many sex scenes in a film or series as a kind of excuse. So you can say “Okayyyy?” think if the work only consisted of “circling bodies”. But according to Cavill, what does that add to the story other than: “Oh, a naked person. Great.”
