Almost every man who can has probably grown a beard at some point. Russell Crowe has now proven how much the hair on the face changes the look of the wearer. For five years, the film star always appeared with a full, gray beard – both on social networks and at public events.

He now shared a snapshot of himself on the messaging service X, formerly Twitter, with the words: “First shave since 2019.” And Crowe looks completely different. His fans in the comments under the post are also amazed. “Wow you look 20 years younger,” one user commented. “You have a beautiful face. It’s a shame to hide it behind so much hair,” said another.

It is not clear from his post why Crowe shaved his beard now of all times. It is possible that he has to prepare for his role as Hermann Göring in “Nuremberg”. Filming in Hungary begins in March. Crowe stars in the film alongside Oscar winner and “Bohemian Rhapsody” star Rami Malek. But Crowe and Malek aren’t the only superstars involved in the project. Michael Shannon, Leo Woodall and John Slattery are also on board, among others.

The film is based on the book “The Nazi and the Psychiatrist” by Jack El-Hai. It’s about the experiences of army psychiatrist Douglas M. Kelley with Hermann Göring, one of the most influential criminals of the Nazi regime. At the Nuremberg Trials in 1945 he was found guilty on all four charges and sentenced to death. Shortly before the execution, Göring took his own life in October 1946 with the help of a cyanide poison capsule.
